Interactive theater night tour Secrets of Grič is intended for visitors and citizens of Zagreb who want to discover the historical and mystical side of the capital. Visitors can actively participate in various scenes from the history of Zagreb of which some will mollify and some shudder them.
The tour is based on historical facts, romanced history taken from the novel by Mary Juric Zagorka, and the famous urban legends. Night tour "The Secret of Grič" is special for its evening term and costumed historical and fictional characters that represent the city's history on a scenic and interactive way and guarantee you a new experience of famous locations.
Meeting point is the crossing of Ilica and Mesnička street, by the statue of fra Andrija Kačić Miošić. The group is greeted by a Man in the black cloack.
The tour is played each Friday on Croatian and each Saturday on English, from May to September, starting at 9.00 p.m. During a one hour walk along the streets and squares of the Upper Town, lantern in hand, tourists will have an opportunity to get to know the history of Zagreb as told by the great Croatian novelist Marija Jurić Zagorka.
During the tour, visitors encounter Manduša, Nera and Sinisa from Zagorka's novel, and Petrica Kerempuh and his acting troupe which will play the story of a peasant uprising and Matija Gubec. There are also knights, and “nažigač” and “noćobdija”, a few witches, as well as various other characters and events from books and novels, interwoven into a seductive and mysterious story of the Upper Town.
Sixty minutes walking along Grič, in the light of lanterns in Zagorka's company, in any case, is a great start of the summer evening.
